A Traineeship in Hairdressing, Barbering or Beauty could be the perfect route to help you find a job or an Apprenticeship.
What is a Traineeship?
Traineeships are for young people who want to work, but who need extra support to gain an apprenticeship or job. Traineeships will give you the opportunity to develop skills and workplace experience that employers look for.
Are you eligible?
If you’re aged 16-18, live in South Wales and are not in a job, school or college then it’s likely you can access this programme in your local area.

What happens next?
A Traineeship is fully funded and you will even receive £30-£50 per week plus help with your travel expenses. You will gain vocational skills and build your confidence whilst on placement with a salon in your area.
The programme will usually last for approximately 9 months.
Entry requirements
No formal qualifications are required. However, you must have drive, enthusiasm and passion for the hairdressing and beauty industry.

Level 1 NVQ in Hairdressing and Barbering
Or
Level 1 NVQ in Beauty Therapy either one of the following -
• Assist with facial skin care treatments
• Assist with day make-up • Assist with nail services.
